Marina Tierney, Psy.D. has been a licensed psychologist for 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
Her areas of expertise include anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues and stress management. Additionally, she enjoys working with issues related to identity and adjustment as well as multicultural issues.
Dr. Tierney gears her treatment approach to the specific goals of her patients using a combination of treatment interventions including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness practices. She also incorporates advances in the field of neuroscience to help promote sustained neurological changes that result in improved emotional wellbeing.
Most importantly, Dr. Tierney works collaboratively with her patients to identify areas of individual strength and resilience that encourage healing and positive change.
She has a personal interest in the benefits of exercise, including yoga, on overall wellness. Dr. Tierney works with adolescents and adults ages 15 and up.
