Dr. Hatfield is a licensed psychiatrist who specializes in adults and seniors (65+), although she is comfortable seeing patients of most ages. She attended medical school at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She then completed five years of postgraduate training, including a residency program in Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin; the first year of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (a 2-year program); and then transitioned to the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, which she completed in 2023.
She is Board Certified in General/Adult Psychiatry and Board Eligible in Geriatric Psychiatry. She specializes in mood and psychotic disorders, neurocognitive disorders (dementia), ADHD (child and adult), and “Seasons of Life” changes. She practices primarily medication management but utilizes brief psychotherapeutic techniques to optimize her patient’s long term outcomes.
She will happily provide psychiatric care during pregnancy and postpartum periods, including to mothers who are breastfeeding.
Dr. Hatfield is here part-time (Wednesday - Friday). She supervises and teaches at the Veterans Administration in the Geriatric Psychiatry clinic for MCW Psychiatry Residents in addition to other clinical responsibilities there.
Dr. Hatfield was born and raised in southern West Virginia. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She is an avid reader and movie watcher.
Dr. Hatfield is comfortable seeing all adult patients (and younger upon request on a case-by-case basis).
